Advancement at the Banana Boat

banana boatAs a cold snap hit the King’s-Edgehill community here in Nova Scotia last week, our Director of Advancement, Heather Strickey, travelled to Florida with her daughter Julia (2013-19), who was enjoying her first reading week as a student at Mount Saint Vincent University. Always one to take advantage of the opportunity to gather members of the KES community, Heather arranged a lunchtime get together at the alliterative Banana Boat restaurant in Boynton Beach! There, she was joined by Margie (Current IEF Board; 1962-63) and Ken Rock (Current FKESF Board), Carol Ann Lockhart (1963-67), her spouse Robert Wolff, Richard DeMont (1980-82), Richard’s wife Deanna Errico, and Eric Moe (1970-77).

The group enjoyed balmy weather overlooking a marina, watching boats chug by as they swapped stories and laughs—along with a massive ice cream sandwich for dessert! Heather is headed back down south again in March over her youngest daughter Gabby’s (2016-Present) March Break, this time joined by her husband and KES Director of Admissions, Chris Strickey, as well. The Strickey family will be at Seasons 52 in Sarasota for lunch on March 18th, so if you are in the area—or feel like a mid-winter jaunt to Florida—please RSVP to kesalumni@kes.ns.ca!
