Selena Liu is from Jinan, China and has been at KES for 3 years.
I have chosen this oil painting as one of my favourite works because this was my first-time using oil paint, and I am very pleased with the results. I feel that this woman is very special and represents all women with the objects around her reflecting her personality. The colours are bright to suggest her different moods and experiences.
Future plans: I want to study Business at university.

Megan Huang is from Taiwan, Taipei and has been at KES for 4 years.
I chose these 2 works to share with you as I feel that they are my best and reflects my improvement over the years. The oil painting of the train represents transport and history in my country. I wanted to try using more brush stokes and colour with this painting. The drawing is a still life to reflect my improved technical skills over the years.
Future Plans: I want to go into the Jewelry programme at the Ontario College of Art and Design.zoom_news1313424_1331231

Anna Emery is from California, USA and has been at KES for 3 years.
I have chosen this painting for my favourite because I had the most fun doing it. It was also my first time working with oil paint and using gold leaf. I was influenced by Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha; he is also my mother’s favourite artist. I took inspiration from his designs and incorporated the elements that reminded me of home.
Future plans: I plan to study Business at Dalhousie University and to keep taking photographs.

Don’t forget to mark this date on your calendar: Thursday, April 2, 2020!
