Edgehill Holiday Tea

On Thursday, December 12th, unforeseen weather circumstances meant the Alumni & Advancement Team (Heather Strickey, Jenn Shaw, Juanita Giles, and me) enjoyed the presence of a small—but jovial—group of Old Girls for our annual Holiday Tea. This year, we were delighted by the pleasant company of Karen MacBride (1961-1963), Lynn Pascoe (1947-1952), and Elizabeth McMichael (1950-1953)—along with Elizabeth’s husband, Alex Morrison. As always, Twila and the Chartwells team provided us with delicious holiday treats, including those peanut butter balls that I can never stay away from!

Carols played in the background as Heather, Jenn, Juanita, and I had a chance to catch up with this reliable group of tea-goers. Karen had just returned from New York City, where she had performed at Carnegie Hall (!!) with her local choir group; Elizabeth told us dreamily of her plans to escape to “the woods” for a quiet Christmas this year with her “turkey” (Alex); and Lynn told us of how she had ended up moving to Hantsport years ago after falling in love at first sight with what she called her “little bungalow.”

As the afternoon wrapped up, we were also thrilled to present Elizabeth with an 80th birthday gift on behalf of Alex. Knowing how close Elizabeth’s time at Edgehill is to her heart, Alex made a generous donation to our Annual Giving Fund! It was a surprise made even lovelier by Elizabeth’s earlier comments about how formative her experience at Edgehill had been in her life.

With that, the Alumni & Advancement Team is signing off until the New Year. All the best to you this holiday season, into the next decade, and beyond!
