German Baking with Frau Stuart: Episode 2 Deutscher Schokoladenkuchen

large_news1335518_1345174I hope you are doing well. I wanted to take a moment to thank those of you who sent me pictures of the Strawberry Roll. It made me so happy! Some of you had altered the recipe slightly which I absolutely loved!

This gave me the idea to now share a very basic recipe with you for a (German) chocolate cake (Schokoladenkuchen). I chose this recipe because it is fast, easy, and requires only very basic ingredients.

Please click here for the recipe.

zoom_news1335518_1345176The great thing is that you can easily switch out some ingredients for others, e.g. Do you want it gluten free? The flour shelf was completely empty at the store? Try quinoa flour or coconut flour! You don’t like milk? Use coconut or almond milk. However, I mainly chose this recipe because I want to see amazing and creative ideas from you on how to decorate this cake. The options are pretty much infinite.

So, go ahead, relax and take some time off work to enjoy baking and doing something for your belly and soul. 😊 Have fun decorating, have fun making someone else happy with your cake…, or just simply enjoy!

Guten Appetit! 😊
