Inside King's-Edgehill School

Our Amazing Dance Team

large_news1332472_1343530I personally believe that the dance programme adds even more to the astonishing school that King’s-Edgehill already is. Dance is becoming more appreciated around the world, and KES provides a space where students can express themselves through the art of dancing. The Dance Team has bonded together through sweat and tears (thankfully no blood). Through rain or shine we are always there for one another; we consider each other family. Whether I need some cheering up or I am in the mood to have fun, the dance studio is my safe haven. We have a very supportive teacher, Ms. Cummings, and she inspires and encourages us constantly. I am very lucky to have her as my dance instructor.

We were all very nervous for the Open House that took place on Monday, February 24th because not only was it our first time performing “Someone you loved”, but it was also our first time performing as a Dance Team. Just before we went on stage, we were quickly going over the routine. Doing this made me realize how much these girls mean to me and how proud I am of us as a team and how far we have come. It took a lot of dedication and hard work, but it was worth it when I got to perform an amazing routine alongside some of my best friends.

Dance is one of the many reasons why I wanted to come to King’s-Edgehill, and I was not disappointed one bit. If dance is your natural calling, or is something you are interested in, I don’t know a better way to embrace it than doing so at our School. I am so thankful to be attending KES because I’m offered so many opportunities and great experiences. Dance at KES gives you that little push to expand your horizons and be true to yourself.

You’ll find countless opportunities to express your artistic interests at our School. The Arts make up one of the essential four pillars of a KES education.
