The King’s-Edgehill community congratulates   Lea MacLeod and Mae Batherson  on an awesome week spent in Quebec City representing Team Atlantic at the U18 National Championship.

The girls played some of the best hockey players in the country, and came back with memories of a lifetime. A highlight for them was opening the tournament with a 2-1 victory against the eventual champions, Ontario Red! The girls made us very proud representing their province and our School with pride and honor! Thank you to everyone who was able to watch some of the games and cheer the girls on from a distance!

Girls Hockey Win Vermont Tournament!

Posted by KES Blogging Team on Nov 7, 2017 7:32:59 AM

The Girls Hockey Team travelled to Burlington, Vermont this past weekend for the Vermont Starts Fall Foliage Classic tournament! We were all very excited to enjoy the beauty of the fall colors but also to face off against competition from New Jersey and Vermont! Although short benched due to injury and illness, the girls battled hard all weekend and, of course, left some energy to explore downtown Burlington, and the girls threw a surprise party for   Morgaines  birthday. We had an amazing weekend with so many highlights on and off the ice, it’s hard to pick only a few. Let’s start with the girls scoring 11 goals in 4 games! With the cherry on top being   Kenzie Cecchetto’s  hat trick in the second game!

We are always happy to get updates from our alumni, and I was especially happy to receive news from my first hockey graduates,  Julia Schmitt (2014-17) and Rita Dorofeeva (2012-17). Julia and Rita both captained the hockey team last year and were a big part in our 4th place finish overall in the NAPHA! They were rewarded for their hard work on and off the ice and both received scholarships to attend Universities here in Atlantic Canada.
