Inside King's-Edgehill School

Good luck to Vinnie at National Science Fair!

Good luck to Vinnie at National Science Fair!

This was an exciting week of Science for Vinnie Armstrong. He has been representing King’s-Edgehill School and the Annapolis Valley (AVRSF) at the virtual National Science Fair being held in Ottawa.

The awards ceremony has not yet been held, so fingers crossed that he has done well. Our Junior School showed up Wednesday to lend their support!  We all created accounts on the National Fair website, and we attended a day of Scavenger Hunts and Virtual Escape rooms, downloaded sponsor “badges” and, we viewed the presenter projects submitted by students from across the country.  The virtual lobby (pictured) was interactive, and allowed us to enter different areas of the fair – it was quite well organized.  They even have a Canada Wide Science Fair Television set up, with a TV Guide of shows.  The topics ranged from Chemistry demonstrations to talks with an astronaut!  After lunch, we went back to the site to have more personal interactions with the project boards and to stop by to lend Vinnie our support.  While we only examined the site for one day, the log-in credentials are good for the week and provides long-term access to the “TV on Demand” sections of the Fair.

It was a lot of fun and a great way for us to learn about some fascinating topics.  I would encourage anyone who is interested to register for your own account and check it out!  The fair is open to all visitors and can be accessed here to set up an account:  CWSF 2021 Visitor Registration.

Good luck to Vinnie!
