Junior School students have been hard at work rehearsing for The Lion King JR. Performances will be on April 8 at 7:00pm and on April 9 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Tickets are $10 for general admission and children 12 and under are free. Tickets will be available at the door before each performance. The 60-minute musical is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor and the 1994 Disney film.

The Lion King JR. tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious cub named Simba
(Dulcie Upton ‘28/Lily Lloyd’28) as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as king. Along the way, the young lion encounters a colourful cast of characters including spunky lioness Nala
(Natalia Shaw ‘27/Gabby Shaw ‘25), charismatic meerkat Timon
(Will Larder ‘26), and loveable warthog Pumbaa
(Chaz Faucher ‘26).
To claim his rightful place on the throne and save his beloved Pridelands, Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked Uncle Scar (Sachaa Rudrum-Bhimji ‘25).
The Lion King JR. features classic songs from the 1994 film such as “Hakuna Matata” and the Academy Award winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” as well as additional songs penned for the Broadway production.
