Table Tennis Provincial Champs
Tin Long (Anson) Chan, Haichuan (River) Qi, Zhiming (Jimmy)and
Yize (Tom) Wang competed at the NSSAF Provincial championships at NKEC on Saturday, May 5th. The team went 15 – 2 for the day.
Anson and
River went undefeated.
Jimmy and
Tomalternated games. Anson’s media coverage had caught up with him, as he was the man to watch throughout the day. It soon became obvious that KES was the team to watch. Parents and competitors were more than complimentary of the entire team; the way they played and conducted themselves. I don’t think Tom changed his expression or body language in a back and forth defensive battle in the final match against the CEC athlete to seal the GOLD.
Everyone was surprised that River was only in Grade 9. He was smooth and impressive as well as flashy and gracious. Everyone expected lots from Anson and they got it! He is an extremely humble and mature young gentleman. He drew the attention of more media at the event and Eastlink requested to have him rally for the camera with one of the CEC players. Congratulations, boys!
