For the Week of March 8th – 21st

Senior Girl - Lily Sidorchuk
 – As a member of our leadership ski team this season, Lily led warm-ups and helped set the pace on both training and free ski days at the hill.  She was the fastest female racer and second fastest, regardless of gender, in the March 10 Regional Ski Race, blazing through the course with a combined time of 62.36 seconds.  Congratulations, Lily!

Senior Boy - Mitchell Larkin - As Captain of the KES Ski Race team, Mitchell coached and set training courses all season.  At our one and only Regional Ski Race he competed with his teammates, recording the fastest times of the day - a combined two-run time of 60.46 seconds. Congratulations, Mitchell!

Junior Boy - Westin Andres brings experience to our Ski team at a young age, and he showed us his speed during the Regional Race with a combined time of 71.18 seconds.  This placed him second fastest boy in the Junior age category.  In fact, he earned the 5th fastest time out of 40 males at the race, regardless of age.  When not ski racing, he can be found with the Prep Swim team training and racing in the pool. Well done, Westin!

Junior Girl - Lilian Blois is a great new asset to our Snowboarding team. She displayed significant improvement throughout the season. She concluded a very productive season with a great time on the GS course in our KES internal race. Lilian is by far the youngest rider on the team and had a faster time than some Grade 12 students. She is also one of our finest young swimmers on our Prep Swim programme. Ride on, Lily!

For the Week of March 22nd – 28th

Senior Girl - N/A
Senior Boy - N/A

Junior Boy - Aidan Fox really stepped up his game in the last weeks of the snowboard season. He showed great leadership on our race day, and he was keen to help set the course. Additionally, he gave valuable feedback to his peers on how to improve the course. He surprised his coaches by riding the course on his alpine board which was a first for him. Although it was his first tries on an alpine board in a GS course, he displayed his excellent riding skills and came out with the third fastest time of the day. Ride on, Fox!

Junior Girl - Mylah Simpkin recently participated in a showcase for national figure skating judges via video Zoom. Although by far the youngest skater at the event, she stood out in many ways exhibiting her athleticism and enthusiasm for the sport. Only 11 years old she was surrounded by experienced skaters, mostly 18–25-year-olds, all striving to be recognized.  She excelled in pairs with her partner Luke Dupuis completing a “Double Sow”, a “Throw Double Lutz” and other complex routines.  Mylah also is an excellent swimmer in our Prep Swimming programme where she improves her technique and fitness each day. This member of the St Margaret’s Bay Skating Club has a bright future on the ice.
