Inside King's-Edgehill School

he KES varsity snowboard team hit the Martock slopes last Tuesday, February 20th to compete in our 1st boardercross competition of the season.
Sixty athletes from five other schools were our rivals; however, in typical snowboard culture fashion, every rider involved supported and cheered each other on to do their best, regardless of their school affiliation.
Girls' Team Captain, Kyra Jarvis held the top position of her Intermediate category, with her best time at 36:46, while her counterpart Boys' Team Captain in the Intermediate division Evan Logan placed second with a 33:46. Evan's younger brother Jem placed 3rd in that division with a time of 34 flat.
Senior boy, Duncan Ferguson also placed second with a time of 34.3, and our fastest senior girl was Clare Bennett-Gibbs at 35.52. Junior boy, Fox Sullivan, led his team to a Bronze place finish with his 3rd place time of 43:62.
All athletes are looking toward next Monday's Qualifier race to advance to the NSSAF Provincials on the morning of March 5th; wish them every success!
