Happy Chinese New Year!

This year the Chinese New Year officially began on January 25th and will end on February 4th. The beginning of the New Year coincides with the first day of the new moon. The Chinese Zodiac rotates on a 12-year cycle and 2020 is the ‘year of the rat’. People born in the ‘year of the rat’ are said to be outgoing, cheerful, and sociable. They get along with everyone, have lots of friends, and work well under pressure.
Chinese New Year
This year we took students out to celebrate with an Asian dinner at Jiang Nan Restaurant in Halifax. We enjoyed spicy seafood stew, sautéed beef, shrimp, bok choi, octopus, and so many other tasty dishes. Great job, Madison, Gavin and Will for planning the dinner. The evening concluded with a ‘sing-a-long’. We may have a few new talents to showcase in this year’s Cultural Fair!

Happy New Year everyone!
