Inside King's-Edgehill School
The Grade 8 and 9 Art classes started the term learning the basics of drawing such as line drawing, shading, contour drawing, perspective and other more advanced drawing skills.
After a few drawing projects, they were introduced to colour theory, composition, watercolours and then painting with acrylic paint. These two classes have just finished their acrylic painting projects focussing on the skills that they were just taught.
We also researched artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Frieda Kahlo, Emily Carr and the Group of Seven. These paintings are all acrylic paintings on stretched canvas. The students are now working on the three-dimensional unit.
