Math Contest Results

math contest Results from the latest last Math Contests were announced this week. Written by 46 KES students from Grades 9 to 12, these contests are marked on the students’ full written solutions. The contests are written, distributed and marked by The Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, and they are administered by schools. 

The following competitors were awarded Certificates of Distinction for scoring in the top 25% of all contestants in the world who wrote the contests.

KES Grade 9 Fryer Contest Results:
1st  Zhi (Angel) Li - she also placed 3rd in NS
Tie for 2nd  Mitchell Dinn and Xikun (Ted) Yu – they also tied for 8th place in NS
Tie for 4th – Yunjin (Kevin) Bai, Hannah Bryant, and Greg Otto

KES Grade 10 Galois Contest Results:
1st  Yi (Edward) Chang – he also placed 3rd in NS
2nd  Jiahuan (Edward) He
3rd  Yuxi (Lonnie) Luo
4th  Yifei (Sean) Sun
5th  Jiahe (Aaron) Lu

KES Grade 11 Hypatia Contest:
1st  Junxi (Oscar) Ou – he also placed 6th in NS
2nd – Xi (Tony) Chen – he also placed 10th in NS
3rd  Xinlan (Angela) Du
Tie for 4th  Ella Brown and Haichuan (River) Qi

KES Grade 12 Euclid Contest:
1st  Jiashu (Jay) Liu – he also placed 8th in NS
2nd  Qianhui (Venus) Hong
3rd  Weijung (Joanne) Huang 
4th  Weijia (Torres) Liu
5th  Ziyue (Shell) Jiang
