Math Contest Results

Results from the latest last Math Contests were announced this week. Written by 46 KES students from Grades 9 to 12, these contests are marked on the students’ full written solutions. The contests are written, distributed and marked by The Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, and they are administered by schools. 

The following competitors were awarded Certificates of Distinction for scoring in the top 25% of all contestants in the world who wrote the contests.

KES Grade 9 Fryer Contest Results:
1^st – Zhi (Angel) Li - she also placed 3^rd in NS
Tie for 2^nd – Mitchell Dinn and Xikun (Ted) Yu – they also tied for 8^th place in NS
Tie for 4^th – Yunjin (Kevin) Bai, Hannah Bryant, and Greg Otto

KES Grade 10 Galois Contest Results:
1^st – Yi (Edward) Chang – he also placed 3^rd in NS
2^nd – Jiahuan (Edward) He
3^rd – Yuxi (Lonnie) Luo
4^th – Yifei (Sean) Sun
5^th – Jiahe (Aaron) Lu

KES Grade 11 Hypatia Contest:
1^st – Junxi (Oscar) Ou – he also placed 6^th in NS
2^nd – Xi (Tony) Chen – he also placed 10^th in NS
3^rd – Xinlan (Angela) Du
Tie for 4^th – Ella Brown and Haichuan (River) Qi

KES Grade 12 Euclid Contest:
1^st – Jiashu (Jay) Liu – he also placed 8^th in NS
2^nd – Qianhui (Venus) Hong
3^rd – Weijung (Joanne) Huang 
4^th – Weijia (Torres) Liu
5^th – Ziyue (Shell) Jiang
