Inside King's-Edgehill School

Mentoring our Youth

One of the benefits of a King’s-Edgehill education is the large number of opportunities our faculty and staff have IMG_8296to mentor our students beyond the classroom.

At King’s-Edgehill School, your child gets guidance to keep them moving in the right direction. As faculty and staff, we’re all dedicated to helping your son or daughter become well rounded and ready to enter the world as contributing members of their communities.

We’re encouraged to serve as mentors to every young student. There are many opportunities for us to serve in this capacity: teachers are also coaches, and student advisors, and some are house parents as well. We have the opportunity and responsibility to encourage your child outside the classroom and form bonds that allow us to shape the whole child, not just academically, but also through extracurricular activities and in their personal lives.

Having that additional guidance helps develop the whole child. As mentors, we get an understanding of where a student is strong and where they may need help or encouragement. We coach them on how to use their strengths to overcome barriers.

We’ll also help your child understand the value of their education and get the most out of it. We offer academic assistance when we see students struggling. We help students gain confidence and self-esteem. We help students learn to make the right decisions for their lives and avoid unconstructive activities. We teach students how to relate to different kinds of people and improve their communication skills.

Highland_Jr._Games_(6)Can a student do well without a mentor? Of course, but with that extra support of a mentor, each student can do more; they can excel – in school and in life. Mentors help students in many ways. It is an invaluable tool we’ll use to guide your child’s development.

King’s-Edgehill School is a place for our students to grow in all aspects of their lives. We foster their development as individuals and as productive members of society with education, activities, and mentoring. Our faculty and staff are committed to helping each student realize their potential and reach their goals inside and outside the classroom. Our dedication is felt by students and they understand we expect the same dedication in return. Your child will have every opportunity to thrive at KES.

King's-Edgehill School families are always welcome on campus and at our events. If you're not part of the KES family yet, you're still welcome to visit! The best way to experience our school is in person. We'll connect your child with a current student so they can experience King's-Edgehill together, while you speak with our Admissions Team.
