Training for Nationals

training for nationalsBella Turner-Galaise has been preparing for the Canadian Wrestling Championships scheduled for April 5-7. She had a busy March break competing in our Senior Girls Prep hockey games in PEI as well as winning the PEI & NB Open Provincial Wrestling Championship tournaments. These three events have kept her busy over the break, and she has returned to School focused on preparing for the penultimate tournament of the year. She and team members, Team Captain, Téa Racozzi and Callum Lovelace have been training early each afternoon, prior to their additional new spring sports commitments, in preparation for the Nationals. The wrestling practices are short and intense and will continue every weekday afternoon prior to departing next week. This will be the first National Championship for all three wrestlers. Quinn Emery is helping to spar with and prepare his teammates and would be participating himself but he does not possess Canadian citizenship at this time. This event is where national team members are selected and citizenship is mandatory. He will be one to look for at this event next year. We are hopeful for some great results from these three student–athletes. Both Téa and Bella won GOLD at the high school provincials this year with Callum placing second in an upset.
