For the Week of November 18 – 24
Junior Boy: N/A
Junior Girl:  N/A

Senior Girl: Rachel Griffith’s resilience and determination allowed her to play hard in every single volleyball game while demonstrating great communication skills throughout the season. During our last game of the year, she earned several points against Horton and Annapolis West with her consistent and powerful serves. She exhibited great leadership and maintained a positive attitude even when the points were against us. Way to go, Rachel!

Senior Boy: In two hockey games this past weekend, Bryson Uberoi made many key saves to help keep our team's momentum which gave us a chance to win. His first game was against Blyth White Bruins where he stopped all 22 shots he faced to record his first shutout of the season in a 5-0 win. His second match of the weekend was against Blyth Raiders. Again, Bryson made some important saves late in the third period while we were protecting our lead, stopping 26 of 27 shots in a 3-1 victory! Bryson is very deserving of this recognition. Well done!

For the Week of November 25 – December 1
Junior Boy: Alan Xu competed at our recent CAIS Basketball Tournament in Lennoxville, Quebec. As a Grade 9 student, he held his own against older players. He also joined the Junior team and led our boys in scoring against Evangeline Middle School. Most impressive was his dominance of the defensive rebounds. Alan “cleaned up the glass” after every miss. He is poised to help both the Senior and Junior teams this season. Keep up the great work, Alan!

Junior Girl: Gabby Shaw: This past weekend, our Junior girls began their basketball season by hosting their Annual Tip-off Tournament here on campus. Through their first three games of the season, the girls' confidence and game play steadily improved. The one constant over the entire weekend was the play of Grade 7 point guard, Gabby Shaw. Despite being the youngest player on our team, Gabby led our team on the floor with her strong play. She could be counted on to attack our opponent’s defense, set up her teammates and grab rebounds over much taller opposition. While our season is still in its early stages and our group has much room for growth, it is clear that Gabby will be a catalyst for the success we have this season. Great work, Gab!

Senior Girl: Ava Benedict: The smooth skating center was exceptional against the top teams at this weekend’s 2 Nations tournament! A leader on and off the ice, Ava made sure the girls prepared properly and held them accountable. She was awesome on face offs shutting down all competition and setting up offensive plays. Our captain always leads with hard work, respect and will do anything to help her team have success! It was an awesome first half for Ava -- not only with her game play but also because she has committed to attend UNB and play hockey for the Reds in 2020-21! The UNB coach was quoted as saying “Ava is a very smart player and complements the players around her.” Congratulations, Ava!

Senior Boy: Pablo Bezares Guerrero: It does not take long to enter into a season and feel the pressure from challenges that accompany it. While we are just six games into our current basketball campaign, it only took that long for Pablo to set himself apart as a true competitor. While he has yet to dunk the ball, Pablo’s style is not given to a few highlight-reel plays, but rather every minute that he is on the floor he plays with passion, grit and intelligence. These are the ingredients for winning. Simply put, with Pablo we have a better chance of successfully competing against any opponent. Keep up the great work, Pablo!
