Bring Your Sibling to School Day 2019

Friday, May 3rd, was a special day. It was Bring Your Sibling to School Day and there was much excitement as approximately thirty brothers and sisters arrived with their siblings for a KES day of learning. They joined their brothers and sisters in Chapel, advisor meetings, classes, lunch and at the special after-school activities. It was a true family day of learning. In the Grade 7 class alone, we had the youngest and the oldest sibling visitors in the School. Nikhita Kolla brought her 6-year-old younger sister, Srini, and Caitlin Behan brought her 22-year-old sister, Holli, to campus for the day. Teachers offered differentiated instruction to meet the needs of everyone, and Holli even had the opportunity to assist the teachers during the Grade 7 Wellness class. It was wonderful to see our students taking care of their siblings and our community eagerly welcoming our guests. The smiles on the faces as they left each class, said it all. The day would not have been complete without a walking tour around our campus, a visit to historic Long Pond and a hike along the beautiful Manning Trails. The sunshine and fresh air felt good. The day ended with a game of Chocolate Bar Bingo in the dining hall, a big hit for all of our siblings. Special thanks are extended to Mr. Kevin Lakes for organizing the afternoon activities and to Jaymie Fawson, Freek Schep and Daniella Cortazar for their able assistance.
