Inside King's-Edgehill School

Cultural Day Variety Showcase

large_news1311919_1329496This week has been Spirit Week, during which we have had lots of different activities, one of which was Cultural Day. One of the features of that day included a talent show of multi-cultural costumes, dances and music. It is always refreshing to see our international students take pride in their heritage and demonstrate meaningful cultural performance traditions through their songs, dances and attire. Grade 12 student Nydia Liu and Grade 9 student Jenny Zhang did exactly that with their rendition of a Chinese art song, performed in beautiful outfits. The moment they took to the stage, they excited the eyes and ears of the audience with a type of music that you would not expect to hear from youthful talent in this pop-infused world. It was obvious from the start that they have absolute pride in their culture and traditions. I will feature video performances of students from other nations in the weeks ahead, but for the moment, please celebrate this demonstration of passionate artistic nationalism that Jenny and Nydia shared with us on Tuesday afternoon. Enjoy!

The best way to experience all that King's Edgehill School has to offer is to experience it in person. Sign up for our Open House and plan your visit.
