On September 13th the Alumni and Advancement Office kicked off the 2019-2020 school year with a dinner for the Class of 2020 and their Parents, with many travelling a great distance to come say hello. This group included Valerie Meyer, mother of Teagan Meyer (2016-2020), who drove from Oromocto, New Brunswick! The aim of the evening was to welcome the new Grade 12 students back to our School and to introduce them to the Advancement and Alumni Office and the concept of what it means to be part of the King’s-Edgehill Alumni Community.
Prior to dinner, the parents were graciously hosted by the Headmaster and his spouse, Dr. Belinda Seagram, at Alexandra Hall, where they had a chance to mingle and chat with the Headmaster, other Parents, and the Advancement Team. The group was then escorted by Kelly Bouwman (2014-2020) to the dining hall, where we were met by a tittering class of new Grade 12 students. By this time everyone was ready to dig into the fabulous buffet-style meal put on by Twila and the Chartwells team.
After a few warm words from the Headmaster about the tight-knit group comprising this year’s graduating class, the food was beautifully blessed by the Rev, and everyone hit the buffet line—in an orderly fashion, of course! Throughout dinner the room was treated to the sound of Megumi Tsuji’s (2018-2020) talents on the piano.
The evening was capped off with an excited speech from our Head Girl, Ava Benedict, and our Head Boy, Evan Logan, welcoming their peers to one last year at King’s-Edgehill School. After a few quick words from the Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations, Heather Strickey, everyone was off for the weekend!
