Inside King's-Edgehill School
By the time 1996 came along, the call for peace, racial equality, gender identity, sexuality, and drug dependency had become well-entrenched in the music industry and the news. This was kick started back in the 60's Haight-Asbury scene, the 70's NYC Studio 54 antics and the androgynous look of the 80's music videos.
The focal point in the music for those years was the concept of love and acceptance. While a lot of music touches on that philosophy, one Broadway hit sums it up most succinctly in my opinion: Seasons of Love, from the 1996 musical sensation, Rent. Here is the cast of our latest musical revue singing their heart-felt rendition of this popular song, with honest intentions that the message of the lyrics will be heard and appreciated, yet again, during these challenging times.
