On Saturday, March 27th, our King’s-Edgehill School Robotics teams competed in Acadia University’s regional Robofest qualifier. Twenty-three teams from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island were involved in the tournament which was held online due to COVID-19 restrictions.
In preparation for the event, the Thursday before Saturday’s online tournament, the 5 teams representing King’s-Edgehill School competed in the annual in-house tournament vying for the coveted “Killer Bot Award”. The team of Runzhe Yan, Will Zhao, and Victor Zhou (sporting the delightfully ironic team name “Mediocrity”) came first in this event.
On Saturday, Mediocrity again prevailed, narrowly beating out the team of Edward He, Edward Chang, Lonnie Luo, Benson Chen, and River Qi (team name, Robinsonsphere) to earn second place overall in the tournament. Robinsonsphere earned third place overall.
A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Hannah Sinclair and Mr. Derek Bouwman for all their help in making both the in-house tournament and the online tournament a success.
My congratulations go out to all those who participated in this event!
