Having grown up in a large family, Christmas was always a time of having many people in the house joyously bustling about decorating, wrapping gifts, and preparing and eating wonderful food and sweet treats. It was nice to have a house full this year with my daughter Rayannah (2014-19) home from university, and the addition to our family of three students from KES. Chengyu and Zachary provided the meal one evening, cooking up Chinese hot pot.
Yerin helped make kimbap for lunch one afternoon. The big turkey dinner with all the fixings was also delicious. When we were not eating, we were learning to play Texas hold ‘em or chess, and roasting marshmallows and hotdogs by the fire pit (Oops! more eating!) and enjoying movies. It was all smiles on Christmas morning when it was discovered that Santa had made a visit during the night! Christmas is a special time in so many ways, and it was lovely to spend it together.
