254 KING’S-EDGEHILL SCHOOL CADET CORP GUARD OF HONOUR - ATTENTION! And a hush fell over the crowd. You could have heard a pin drop at the Acadia University Rugby Pitch as ourRegimental Sergeant Major, Chief Warrant Officer Sophie Fraserreadied her Guard for the march on. Our 254 was invited to participate in the opening ceremonies of the 2018 Women’s National Rugby Championship at Acadia University. The Cadets, decked out in full Highland Ceremonial Dress, were magnificent. The Guard consisted of the Colour Party commanded byWarrant Officer, Madora Rae Barbour, and the Girl’s Rugby Team was commanded byCompany Sergeant Major, Master Warrant Officer, Tea Racozzi.OurPipe Major, Master Warrant Officer, Nicola du ToitandPipe Warrant Officer, Kelly Bouwmanprovided bagpipe music to take the Guard onto the field. Formed to the left and right flanks of the Guard were the rugby players from Ottawa and Acadia. Ottawa featured Alumnae such asKenzie Cecchetto (Class of ’18), Morgan Rogers (Class of ’18), Alex Ondo (Class of ’16)andAmy Marchand-Dion (Classof ’18). I am sure they were proud to see their old Corps providing the pomp and circumstance for this auspicious occasion. Following the declaration of the games being open,RSM Frasergave the General Salute to a rousing version ofMary’s Weddingon the bagpipes. This was immediately followed by the singing ofO Canada. Then the Guard marched off into the annals of our 254 history. What a night to be in the Corps!
